Hello, I have noticed there have been several new members to the group sign on recently expressing an interest in learning to weld and I thought that it would be a perfect time to demonstrate two of the most common welding processes "Stick" (SMAW) and "Mig" (GMAW) I will give a demo on each of these and then let everyone try their hand and see how they like it. I'm not sure what day would be better for most people and I would like to schedule it on a day that is good for the most newbies. so please shoot me a message and let me know and we can schedule it on (Tuesday or Saturday) whatever day is best for the most people. I would recommend this Meetup to anyone that has never welded before and doesn't have a clue what I'm even talking about. I will also bring a small flux mig welder from harbor freight that I got on sale for $99.00 just so you can see what you can do with the cheapest welder on the planet. I love it :)

Please wear long pants and at least bring a long selave cotton shirt that you wont mind getting burned, it prolly wont but just in case. Bring a pair of safety glasses, gloves and earplugs if you have them.

Also if you are positive you want to get into this whole welding thing I would suggest buying a welding helmet prior to this meeting because I'm not sure we will have enough to go around I have one extra someone can borrow.

      “ This was the most fabulous class!! Freddy brought his trailblazer generator.With this gas powered unit we were able to stick and mig weld at the same time! We also got the oxyfuel setup out and did some cutting with the torch. We were able to do all this under a great shade tree in the back so it was not too hot outdoors. As a group we put pieces of metal together by stick welding. Everyone got a chance to try it, even Carly a 14 year oldwho is interested in working with metal in the future. Great turn out! Thank You all!! ”
