The StL Fire Arts(Metal, Clay, Glass, etc.) Meetup Group
|
This meetup is for artists who use "fire" to manipulate their medium. Fire can come from a torch, kiln, welder, campfire,...I had been a potter/sculptor for over 20 yrs and now make silver jewelry. I have had the opportunity to cast in bronze and very limitedly steel sculpture. Through my experience, I have learned that creating with fire or extreme heat needs special technical knowledge, equipment, and materials which often crossover. This meetup is for any one interested and/or currently working with metal, glass, enamels, or clay. My hope is that we will grow as artists by sharing ideas, information, techniques, and maybe even tools and space as our friendship grows. It is also my hope that as a group we will share ways to promote and show our work.

Our next meeting:
The StL Fire Arts(Metal, Clay, Glass, etc.) May Meeting
I hope this will be a fun and inspirational meeting place! Lots of creative metal work and sculpting went into forming the museum. I'm thinking we can spend some time exploring, then sit down to dinner and conversation, then spend more time exploring. The Museum is open until 1:00 in the morning, so there is lots of time.
